Working with data in a Cloud environment undoubtedly gives companies a lot of freedom. All employees can access all information anywhere, anytime. Sharing couldn’t be easier, making you and your team highly flexible. But that data is always stored somewhere, and the servers are always planted on terra firma. This is usually in a different country, where rules and regulations might be a lot more relaxed. The US government (especially the NSA) may, for example, require access to the servers storing your information. Since that’s something we’d like to avoid at all cost, we keep all of our servers on Dutch territory, out of reach of the Patriot Act. The NSA cannot force us to release information and we are well-protected against illegal hacking attempts on our servers. In other words: we really do protect your data with our lives.
